A highly experienced leading Consultant Knee Surgeon at Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital and Spire Leeds Hospital, Mr Wall is from a sporting background in endurance sports (running, cycling, triathlon) and has extensive experience in all knee surgery specialising in treating sports knee injuries.

Mr Owen Wall has worked with many professional sports associations across a range of sports, including football, rugby, netball, athletics, cycling and running. He has active research interests in stem cell cartilage techniques and cartilage repair to support with knee arthritis.

I underwent the surgery at Nuffield hospital Leeds in March 2023, and Mr. Wall's care throughout was absolutely excellent. "After a referral via NHS about 3 years ago Mr Wall told me I had a ruptured ACL and it was mutual decision not to have surgery. As very active young, minded 60+ person I tore my meniscus on the Cow and Calf Rocks in Ilkley and further damage took place as my knee constantly gave way . Now 6 months on and after surgery I’m almost ready to resume my active life but need to be sensible as I would not want undo all the expertise and care the I have been fortunate to receive. "My knee had been troublesome for some years. I was due to have a knee replacement when I contracted Sepsis in the knee. With many thanks to Mr Wall and LGI I have made a full recovery, but due to the Sepsis I had to wait 2 years to be clear of it. It was important to me that I had the operation in Leeds as all my notes would be on hand. Mr Wall gave me great confidence; checks were made via scans to make certain that no Sepsis was ‘hiding’ inside the joint. The operation for full knee replacement was/is very successful. The physio I received was so worthwhile. I have good mobility and I can walk 8 miles without any problems. My active life has been transformed! I have even been cleared to go skiing! Probably one of the longest and most complex procedures I undertake….today I give you “PCL + ACL + MCL Reconstruction and medial meniscal repair”. 3.5hrs, involving intra-op XR and another 1hr for pre-operative graft construction, this is hard work!! Patient had chronic multi-ligament instability following a road traffic accident 7 yrs previously. Note the gross laxity at EUA (‘Examination under anaesthetic’, first video) and return to “normal” at end of procedure (last video). If you’ve ever wondered what happens after you have dislocated your knee joint (this patient fell off a motocross bike in the Dalby Forest), these X-Rays show a successful reconstruction of 3 major knee ligaments (PCL, MCL, ACL), all carried out via keyhole surgery and minimally invasive incisions, which took around 2.5hrs.
